REGENTS & HONORS CHEMISTRY
This is a year-long class that ends with a Regents Exam in June. Students are required to complete 1200 minutes of lab time, and submit lab reports as proof that the aforementioned lab time has been successfully completed. Students who do not hand in the necessary number of labs will not be cleared to sit for the Regents Exam in June! Passing the Chemistry Regents Exam can be used as one of the Regents Exams students need to graduate from high school with a Regents Diploma!
SYLLABUS IS UPCOMING
The course will cover a variety of topics that are set forth by New York State, listed here.
In addition to the New York State Core Content, students in my class will receive a sharp focus on literacy as well. Students will practice reading, writing, talking and listening about science - which should help them in all of their classes, as well as in life after high school.
There are a number of websites that students can go to in order to review NYS Regents Chemistry content. At Peekskill, we have Castle Learning assignments - which include a vast bank of old Regents questions. I assign students questions from this bank periodically. As we get closer to the end of the year, more and more time will be spent reviewing old topics - including Regents review.
I'm available nearly every day for help after school, during callback, or in between classes! Don't hesitate to ask, and it is never to early to start reviewing!
If students want additional websites that they can use to study, here are some helpful options that have been created by other educators around NYS:

Students can also go topic-by-topic, and search for YouTube videos in areas where they need help. YouTube has a huge number of helpful videos that students who appreciate more visual learning methods might appreciate.
