Welcome Parents and Students to the 2024-2025 School Year!

I'm excited to be teaching U.S. History and Government this year. We'll be meeting in room 227. In this class, we'll explore U.S. history and government from the pre-colonial era to the present.

Homework is essential—think of it as practice that helps you get better. Being on time and attending class every day, whether in person or online, is crucial.

Students will take the U.S. Regents Exam on June 1, 2025. Passing this exam is required for graduation.

    Cellphone Policy:

To ensure a focused learning environment, cellphone use during class is not allowed unless I give permission for academic purposes. If this rule is broken, there will be a verbal warning first. Continued misuse will result in a call to parents, and repeated violations may lead to administrative action. Your cooperation is important for maintaining a productive classroom.

Looking forward to a great year!

    ASSIGNMENT POLICY

Homework helps students by complementing and reinforcing classroom learning, fostering good lifelong learning and study habits, and providing an opportunity for students to be responsible for their own learning. Regular homework contributes to the development of sound study habits and self-responsibility in children. It is a valuable means of fostering understanding and it serves as a communication link between school and home that shows parents what children are learning.

The Social Studies scores homework based on completion.

    • Homework should demonstrate that it was completed with care and accuracy.
    • Homework should be completed to the best of each student’s ability.
    • Homework should be returned to school on time.

US and Global History Course Grading Policies:

Assessments, Projects  (exams, quizzes, projects & debates) 50%,  Classwork 35%, Homework 15%

    Warmest Regards,
