The Peekskill City School District’s would like your feedback on our communication efforts. As the parents/guardians of our students, we want to be sure we’re communicating our information to you as best as possible. To help us do this, we ask that you take this short, 3 minute survey to help us determine where we are succeeding, and where we can improve. Click here to take our 2019 Parent Communication Survey.
With winter weather upon us, we wanted to ensure our families know where to find information regarding our closings and delays. Click here to learn more!
All are invited to join Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Mauricio for "Conversations with the Superintendent" on Thursday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Parent Resource Center located at Uriah Hill Elementary.
Mrs. Carmen Vargas and her team at Uriah Hill Elementary hosted a Black History Month Celebration at the school. The event featured a stunning song by special guest Ja'Quon Welch, inspirational words from Peekskill Mayor Rainey, and a special presentation from the NAACP's Michael Stephenson. Stephenson came accompanied by props such as an astronaut helmet and scientist goggles, which he handed out to students with the message that they can grow up to be whatever they'd like. Mrs. Vargas' special dance troupe and Mr. McClellan's class also performed, and Ms. Council's class recited poems for guests.
Thank you to all of our school community stakeholders, partners and volunteers who gathered at Uriah Hill for the Lisa Rolleri Parent Center’s Grand Re-Opening Ribbon Cutting event! We thank the Board of Education for supporting this initiative and to PCSD Parent, Family and Community Liaison Mrs. Maria Olivier-Flores for her endless hard work and dedication in getting the Parent Center ready for this day. We look forward to serving our community’s needs with the many resources the Parent Center has to offer.
Thank you to all of our guests who came out for our Mom's Day brunch! we hope you had as much fun as our students did! Click on the headline to see a photo album from this event.
Uriah Hill students in Ms. Stratigeas’ classroom have a special class mascot helping to promote literacy and a love for reading at home – Pete the Cat! Each night a different child is allowed to take home their class “pet” along with a book. Students are encouraged to read and write about their adventures with Pete before returning him home to the classroom the next day. Thank you to our Uriah Hill families who have shared their own photos of Pete with us!
Our Uriah Hill family enjoyed a feast together as they celebrated Thanksgiving a few days early today! Mrs. Vargas and her staff, along with the help of family volunteers, served students turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, which was specially prepared for the occasion by Food Service Director Mr. Andrew Wiesman and his staff.
Uriah Hill Elementary School students culminated their Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations by dancing in traditional clothing for friends, family and PCSD staff. Special guests at the celebration included the Peekskill Dance Fusion dance troupe and Peekskill High School student dancers. For more photos from this celebration, please click on the headline.
