• Welcome to Sculpture!

     
     

    Sculpture is a half year course taken in either the fall of spring semester and is offered to any 8th grade student. In this course, students will be engaged in various sculpture projects using a variety of materials and techniques. Students will be introduced to techniques such as modeling, paper manipulation and construction techniques using, plaster, wire, found objects,  fabric, paper mache and cardboard. Students will explore three dimensional design while developing an appreciation for both functional and sculptural form.


    Students will learn to use the art elements and apply art principles to all of their work. They will gain knowledge of a variety of art movements as well as historical use of sculpture as an art form. 

     

    The sculpture room is a comfortable, safe environment where students are encouraged to use their imagination and discovery their own individuality and creativity

    Throughout our sculpture course we will explore a variety of materials, often utilizing recycled material. 
    We will gladly accept any of the following items to use in our projects;

    Newspaper
    Plastic grocery bags
    Cardboard
    Wood scraps
    Bottle Caps
    Styrofoam
    Papertowel rolls
