WELCOME TO ELA 8N

Welcome to 8th grade ELA!

We have quite a year ahread of us. I am the 8 North ELA teacher, Mrs. Sora and I am so looking forward to getting to know you all!! Throughout the course of this year we will have the opportunity to read many exciting/ unique works of literature. Students will also research expository texts and reflect upon their own personal memories. Students will respond to their class readings through writing showrt responses, essays, completing projects and engaging in countless class discussions.

In addition to what we read as a class, independent reading plays a major role in our classroom. Quarterly book projects and homework assignments are largely based off of what students select to read! Homework assignments are assigned on a weekly basis (typically due on Wednesdays). 

If you have not already done so, please be sure to join our Google Classroom! Homework assignments, projects, essays, and many classwork assignments will all be posted there. (You can find the codes listed below!)
