Hello My Biologists!

    I am Ms. Alvarez and I am happy to say we will be learning all about Life Science this year in 6th grade.  I have been a science teacher, here at the Middle School for many years.  Before that I taught math.  That is my second favorite suject.  If you are like me, and enjoy science and math, you might consider becoming an engineer in the future!  I have two children of my own (Although they are too old to be called children now!) and they are both engineers.  Dani is a biomedical engineer and Chris is an aerospace engineer.  There are so many engineering jobs right now, to chose from, so keep this option in mind for your future.

   I love working with students to explore all there is to explore about the living world around us.  If you know anyone that has been part of the 6 North science team, they will tell you that we will be studying all things tiny and large that are living!  To learn our material we will be moving and singing and exploring, so get ready!  I can not wait to meet my future biologists!  Why are you called a biologist?  Do a little research and tell me the first day of school for a special prize!

   Science is fun!  We are going to have a terrific year!
