8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Grades 10-12: First Day of School
On Monday, February 11, the PNW BOCES Center for Environmental Education Programs came to visit Woodside students and they brought along some very special guests. Student were treated to a "Birds & Raptors" presentation and had the opportunity to see real birds of prey up close. The children were engaged by the lesson and excited to meet these beautiful creatures.
The Parent Instructional Focus is geared toward helping our parent community understand instructional benchmarks, familiarize you with what your child is learning every day and to foster and build a solid home/school connection. We believe that a strong partnership will ensure your child’s academic success and hope that you find the newsletter informative and helpful!
Thanks to some creative ideas from the school’s new principal, Mrs. Rebecca Aviles-Rodriguez, and a collaborative effort between the District, the United Way of Westchester and Putnam, and Costco, Woodside’s students and their caregivers had the opportunity to visit a “Kindergarten Concierge” and “First Grade Front Desk.” These tented areas were set up outside the main entrance of the building and created a space for parents to drop off supplies, have their questions answered and discuss any concerns regarding the first day of school.
