Welcome to Beginning Band!

Students who are interested in joining the beginning band in September 2023 should make sure that they receive an enrollment form from Mrs. Lester at school. All enrollment forms are due to Mrs. Lester no later than Friday, September 15. Tryouts will begin on Monday, September 18 and will end on Friday, September 22. Lessons will begin on Tuesday, September 26. All students will have a weekly instrument lesson. Beginning in January, the students will also start meeting once a week for a large ensemble rehearsal.

Home practicing is a MUST! Recordings will be required weekly to pass a weekly playing test. Please help your child to find a calm, quiet place at home that will be good for practicing and recording their playing tests.

Students in the Beginner Band will use the book Habits of a Successful Beginner Band Musician.  All books should be purchased by the end of October. The color of book is Green with a Yellow striped box around the title. If you are purchasing a book for Baritone, Saxophone, or Drums, you should use the following instructions:

   For Baritone, you should purchase a book for Euphonium.  

   For Saxophone, you should purchase a book for ALTO Saxophone.

   For drums, you should purchase a book for Percussion.
