Reopening Planning Updates & Information

  • Peekskill City School District leadership has been working diligently to prepare for the return to school this fall. Creating a plan to re-open schools is complex due to a variety of factors. Our plan will also be impacted by the Governor’s executive orders and Department of Health guidelines. The District has created several Reentry Committees to address those areas most critical to a successful and safe re-opening. These committees are led by Central Office administrators and include participation from PCSD administrators, faculty, staff and parents.

Each committee has been asked to plan for three possible scenarios:

    1: Full In-School Attendance - 100% in-school learning
(Please note that as of July 23, PCSD is no longer considering Option 1)
2: Partial Attendance - A hybrid model which includes both at-school and at-home learning. (e.g., 50% of the school attends on specific days of the week.)
3: Full Virtual Learning - 100% on-line learning at home

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our planning efforts to continue to provide our students with a safe and supportive reentry in September.
