• Peekskill City School District's Elementary Music Program offers many opportunities for your child to grow in musical excellence. We have a variety of experiences to offer, and hope that our students take advantage of all of these opportunities!
     
    Below are just some of the programs that we offer.
     
     
    General Music K-5 
     
     All Elementary students are required to attend General Music classes once a week.  
    Grades K-3 have grade level performances twice a year.
     
    Specialty Programs 
     
    3rd grade-All students learn how to play recorder.
     
    3rd grade-Students may audition to play a string instrument: violin, viola, or cello.
     
    4th grade-Students who are not in the strings program can audition for band or chorus.
     
    5th grade-The students continue in their chosen ensemble and are then auditioned for continuation of their instrument in middle school.
