¡Mi nombre es Laura Peña y enseño lenguaje dual de una vía en cuarto grado. ¡Este es mi cuarto año enseñando aquí en Hillcrest! Soy de Colombia y me mudé a los Estados Unidos cuando tenía ocho años de edad.

Absolutamente amo los idiomas y creo en el poder de las personas que se vuelven biculturales, bilingües y biliteratos. Tengo un certificado de maestría y certificados de extensión en educación bilingüe (temprana y primaria) de Manhattanville College. Siempre quise ser maestra y me siento muy afortunada de realizar este sueño.

 JUNTOS aprenderemos muchas cosas nuevas y emocionantes este año. Exploraremos, leeremos, escribiremos y mucho más, ¡todo en dos idiomas! Te ayudaré a crecer como estudiante y como individuo.

My name is Laura Peña and I teach One-Way Dual Language in 4th grade. This is my fourth year teaching here at Hillcrest! I am originally from Colombia and moved to the United States when I was eight years old.

I absolutely love languages, and believe in the power of individuals becoming bicultural, bilingual, and biliterate. I have a master's degree and extension certificates in bilingual (early and elementary) education from Manhattanville College. I have always wanted to be a teacher and feel very lucky to fulfill my lifelong dream.

TOGETHER we will learn many new and exciting things this year. We will explore, read, write and much more, all in two languages! I will help you grow as a student and as an individual.
