Protect Our Promise: Charter Opposition Advocacy Information

As you may be aware, a recently released news article highlighted the intention of the South Bronx Charter School to file an application in the City of Peekskill. For those of you who remember, our District was threatened with the opening of a charter school back in 2011, which failed thanks to overwhelming community opposition, as the charter would have dismantled our district and programs as we know them. The current application intention comes from the South Bronx Charter School, and would have an equally devastating impact on our district and programs. Please click here to read a letter from Superintendent Dr. Mauricio providing more detail on this topic. We will update this page as resources and informattion becomes available. A community information session is being planned for early February. More details will be forthcoming. As a District and school community, we are proud of our “Peekskill Promise” which we have made to our children and families. Help us protect everything we have worked do hard to build for our school community.
