Inspired by our District's "Dads Take Your Child to School Day," which took place earlier this school year, Uriah Hill recently decided to have a special day to welcome mothers and inspirational female role models into their students' classrooms. The school's "Mom's Brunch" was held December 9 and featured a variety of fun activities and delicious refreshments.
Uriah Hill Elementary recently welcomed members of the Peekskill Volunteer Fire Department to the school. Firefighters came to teach our students about fire safety and what to do in the event of an emergency. The volunteers showed students their protective gear and gave students a tour of their fire trucks. As a special treat, Uriah Hill’s head custodian, Debbie Sniffen, who is also a volunteer fire fighter, brought along the department’s dog, Sky.
Uriah Hill hosted its second Parents Workshop on Tuesday, October 25. The day focused on how parents can help their Pre-K students succeed in school. Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who came out to support their children!
