PHS Students Attend Excellence in Black Forum at the Peekskill City Court
On Saturday February 9, Pamela Hallman-Johnson, Board Trustee and mother member of the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., together with the Honorable Reginald J. Johnson of the Peekskill City Court hosted “Excellence in Black” in honor of Black History Month. New York State Supreme Court Justice Janet Malone, Peekskill City Court Judge Reginald J. Johnson, Mount Vernon City Court Judge Nichelle A. Johnson, Newburgh City Court Judge E. Loren Williams, New York State Court Officer Pauline Bloomfield-Taylor, and Peekskill Police Officers Khalia Carter and Chatoyer Woodland served as panelists in this event. The speakers shared their professional experiences highlighting the importance of education, perseverance, honesty, character, faith and integrity. Many students from the Peekskill High School attended and participated in this exciting event. The event also featured a tour of the courthouse, police facilities and a meet-and-greet with the judges, including light refreshments.
