Hillcrest Students Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Hillcrest students in Ms. Rice's class recently learned about the origin of Dias de Los Muertes. Some of the interdisciplinary lessons and multi-sensory activities that the children enjoyed included:
-reading and listening to informational texts -using VENN Diagrams to compare and contrast Halloween and Dias de Los Muertes celebrations -dancing to traditional and pop music that's played at parades and celebrations -creating skull masks -celebrating the lives of loved ones who have passed -drinking hot cocoa and eating sweet bread, which are traditional treats of this time
This is the disclaimer text. It should wrap, then the bar will grow in height if more space is needed. The blackboard footer will center if disclaimer is not being used and the background will be one color.
