This is my 25th year teaching special education in the Peekskill City Schools. Before that, I taught grades 4-6 for 10 years at Our Montessori School in Yorktown Heights, and English to grades 7-8. This year at the Woodside Elementary School I am a member of the building level Response to Intervention (RtI) team. I act as a liaison for our school for the Montrose Veterans' Home. Additionally, I participate in the Gardening Committee as the school Garden Advisor. I am looking forward to putting our school greenhouse that was funded by our PTO, PEF, and various donations from our wonderful Peekskill community businesses to good use this year! In the past, as part of the Curriculum Instruction Assessment (CIA) committee I have helped to develop curriculum for grade 1 English Language Arts and curriculum for grade 1 math. I participated in the district wide Peekskill Pride Committee - working to actively inform our residents of the impact a charter school would have on our district and look forward to other ventures.
As a resident of Peekskill for the past 39 years I know first hand how important our schools are to our community. I am proud to be a Peekskill teacher serving my community.
