********PLEASE SEE BELOW REGARDING DISTANCE LEARNING ASSIGNMENTS- MARCH-APRIL 2020; in addition to my my homework page**************
I am thrilled to be teaching at Woodside Elementary School.
I will be teaching all of the kindergarten and first-grade classes.
My teaching consists of a mixed approach consisting of singing together with movement and instrument playing.
Some of the things your child will be learning this year will also include reading and notating music, listening to, analyzing and describing music, understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts, understanding music in relation to history, culture, and literacy.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions at my email address: email@example.com
Happy April Everyone!

Now try speaking the alphabet while doing your jogging and singing on just one breath.
Repeat the exercise and see if you can repeat the alphabet more than once or twice, maybe even three times on one breath while jogging.

Depending on the size of the pot, you will hear different musical pitches. As an added bonus, keep practicing your rhythm symbols. (ta-quarter note, ti-ti-paired eighth notes, quarter rest -silent beat) First graders, can you write down your rhythmic piece on paper then try playing your musical piece on the pots and pans. Invite your family to listen to your performance.
